Our Story

Terrace Catering is built on more than 26 years of experience creating food and events that bring people together in meaningful ways.

Locally owned and led by Jo Romanes, Terrace Catering has its roots in Rotorua and a long-standing commitment to thoughtful hospitality. The business began at the Blue Baths, where Jo and her team developed their early reputation for well-executed events, generous food, and calm, professional service. Those formative years shaped an approach that still defines Terrace Catering today.

When the Blue Baths closed, the catering business carried forward, evolving and finding a new home as Terrace Kitchen emerged and grew in profile. As that recognition strengthened, Blue Baths Catering naturally became Terrace Catering in name, aligning the catering arm with the standards, consistency, and care the Terrace name had come to represent. While the name evolved, the philosophy never did.

Today, Terrace Catering works across the Bay of Plenty, delivering weddings, private celebrations, corporate events, and gatherings of all sizes. From family homes and rural properties to some of the region’s most memorable venues, our team brings experience, precision, and a genuine respect for the moments we’re trusted with. Every menu, every service detail, and every interaction is considered, because we understand how much these occasions matter.

Terrace Catering sits alongside our other locally owned ventures, including Terrace Kitchen, Eastwood, and Parc, but remains firmly focused on what it does best, creating exceptional food and seamless event experiences beyond the walls of a single venue.
